Venison Philly Calzone

Nothing screams a comforting meal like this recipe. It's definitely a "measure with your heart" kind of recipe. That being said... there are no measurements for this one!

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground venison

  • Sliced white onion

  • Worcestershire sauce

  • Onion powder

  • Hamburger seasoning

  • 1 can pizza dough

  • Shredded Swiss cheese

  • Melted butter

  • Parsley

  • Italian seasoning

  • Minced garlic

Directions:

  1. Brown venison in a pan. Add in onion, Worcestershire, onion powder and hamburger seasoning and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 425F.

  3. Lay out pizza dough and cut evenly into four squares.

  4. Evenly place the venison in the center of each pizza dough square. Top with shredded cheese.

  5. Fold each corner towards the middle and make sure it is sealed tightly.

  6. Cook for about 9 minutes or until dough is turning brown.

  7. Make a butter mixture with parsley, Italian seasoning and minced garlic.

  8. Brush the butter mixture on top of each calzone and bake for an additional 5 minutes.

  9. Let cool, cut on a diagonal and enjoy.
