I mean let's me honest... I think we can all agree any type of pasta is the worlds best comfort meal. Who doesn't love a good comfort meal after a busy week, right?
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground venison
1 box rigatoni pasta
1 jar pasta sauce (canned or homemade)
1 white onion, chopped
Minced garlic
Garlic salt
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan
1/4 cup Italian breadcrumbs
Shredded mozzarella
Directions:
Add onion, minced garlic and venison to a pan over medium high heat and cook till brown. Reduce heat and set aside.
Start a large pot of water and allow to boil (I like to add garlic salt to mine, myth or not I believe it boils the water faster and gives the pasta "extra" flavor).
Once the pot of water as began to boil, add pasta and allow to cook.
While the pasta is cooking add about 3/4 jar of pasta sauce to meat, buttermilk, onion powder and Parmesan cheese. Stir together until completely combined.
Drain noodles once cooked and place back in pot. Add in the venison pasta sauce mixture and stir well. Once it is completely mixed add the rest of the pasta sauce and mix again.
Preheat over to 350F. While oven is warming up, grease a cassrole dish and spread pasta out evenly.
Top pasta with breadcrumbs and mozzarella.
Bake for 30 minutes.
